SPARK Ministry

What started with a trip to New York City, where 38 women gathered and served the women of Bowery Women’s Center, has now become Spark Ministry!  Spark Ministry touches and transforms lives through a retreat fit for any one of God’s daughters.  SPARK Ministry shares the Good News of Christ and His unfailing love to homeless women and those in need.

Spark has impacted over 430 women living in shelters, to-date, along with 215 of their children.  Over 300 women have served through Spark and the need continues to grow for volunteers and donors as the word spreads about what Spark Ministry is doing.

Having reflected on her own retreat experience, Molly Breitenfeld prayed to the Lord about how she could serve Him by serving His people.  She’d been actively involve in missions through her home church for numerous years, but knew now was the time to do something else.  It was through prayer and seeking God’s will that Molly recognized the need for a ministry to women in shelters.  “If I needed a retreat, being that I live in a nice home with a great family and have all my basic needs met, then how much more deserving are the women in shelters?” says Molly.  She shared with me that it really hit her that these women need a relaxing time of refreshment in the Lord just as much, if not more than those of us blessed with home, food and family.

Through Gods direction, Molly has now successfully planned and realized over 13 retreats in shelters located all across America.  She has pampered, loved on and embraces God’s Girls and shown them the unconditional love of their Savior.

Join Molly and other volunteers as they make their way to Los Angeles, CA this October.  Or plan to attend a trip in the Spring of 2011!  You don’t have to be from Dallas or the city to which they are traveling.  “Often times women fly in and meet us and volunteer for the weekend retreat”, Molly shared.
