With a growing population of over 2 million Hispanics in the DFW area, the need for Spanish speaking ministries has become evident.  Many churches are now offering bilingual ministries and some have even created dedicated Spanish speaking church services all together.

Led by Pastor Robert Rocha, Casa de Fe (a ministry of The Potters House) has quickly grown from an idea just a few years ago, to approximate attendance of 65-70 Hispanics.  “Worship is in Spanish and the message is often times delivered as a bi-lingual sermon,” says Pastor Rocha.  “We are working on updating our music to include more Latin-style music to meet the unique community of the Hispanic culture,” he adds.

The ministry was a natural extension to the main Potter’s House church as they seek to meet the needs of the local community through culturally sensitive programs.  Bishop Jakes noticed the increasing growth among the Hispanic community and recognized a need.  As he began to research Hispanic culture and ministries he was led to Pastor Rocha, who was already actively involved in a Spanish speaking church and ministry that was taking place just 10 minutes from the border of Mexico.  It was a perfect fit and 3 years ago Casa de Fe was launched!

“We are going to the people, where they are.  We are going to start offering outreach events and a Bible study at Arcadia Park.  There’s a large Hispanic population there,” shares Pastor Rocha.

While Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is widely celebrated in America and among the Mexican culture, Hispanic Heritage Month (September) will be celebrated at Casa de Fe.  “Cinco de Mayo is recognized as a Mexican holiday, we want to celebrate all Hispanics so we focus on Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs September 16th to October 16th, and welcome all!” adds Pastor Roacha.

You may also join Casa de Fe for their “Fiesta Fellowship” event on the last Sunday of each month, immediately following the regular service held on Sundays at 4:00pm.  It’s free to everyone but attendees are asked to bring a dish to share.  With the variety of cultural backgrounds, the food and fellowship are certain to bless all that attend!
