Satan’s Secret Weapon

Satan has a secret weapon that he uses on just about everyone at some point. One reason this weapon is so effective because it takes place in secret!

This weapon keeps people from open fellowship with God and often times alienates it’s victims from friends and family. Satan’s secret weapon is shame!

We’ve just made it through three major holidays in less than sixty days... can you say stress!

However, there’s one important gift you’ve yet to unwrap that will make all the difference in your new year...it’s the gift of peace!

When you hear the word “peace” you probably envision a quiet home, relaxed day at work, no strife, or something else that eludes the typical woman.

Leaving a Legacy

Lately, I’ve lost my way. Not necessarily careening off God's clear road map but veering off into the Badlands of Pity and the Deep Sea of Regret.

I get too caught up in other’s expectations of me or their Saga of Drama, placing my own spiritual, emotional, and mental health aside to grease the skids for another. Lost!

Build Your Confidence

What is insecurity? By definition it means worried, anxious, vulnerable, and unprotected. It can also mean likely to fail or give way, or not safe from attack.

We all have things we would like to improve about ourselves and goals we want to reach, but when you actively dislike yourself and wish you were somebody else, you become an easy target for Satan. Satan knows that in order for you to carry out God’s assignment for your life, you must be confident and secure in who you are in Christ. So, it makes sense why he does his best to make you feel insecure.

The Stepford Wives, The Proverbs 31 Woman, and You

So often, we tear people apart for their faults and yet, in doing so, we reveal our own.

The often maligned Proverbs 31 woman had something going for her. The Scriptures say that "in her tongue is the law of kindness." What does that even look like in today's world? It's easy to imagine her as a simpering woman who was some sort of a cross between Martha Stewart and a Stepford Wife.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." (Proverbs 18:21 ESV)

Don't tell me that women do not use power tools! I know that it is men who have this almost obsessive passion for power in the form of all things electric or otherwise power-driven, but let me tell you, the "babes" of this life have the same passion, and in no small portion either!

Humility Is Like Underwear...

Now I tend to be a big-picture thinker, which leads to grandiose ideas. This is not a bad thing for the right situation, however, to be grandiose in everything takes its toll.

Because of pride, I used to think that when God and I talked He was going to tell me to do something BIG, until I read Matthew 11:28 again.

Lovable?Me?Yeah, right!

You are loveable. Do you know that?

Do you believe that deep down in your heart? Because it's the truth. It's just as true as the sky is blue and that God created the heavens and the earth. It's as true as gravity making apples fall down from trees and as true as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.

The 3 P's: overcoming disappointment

One day, when my friend's young son was in a pre-kindergarten class, he was caught dripping wet after putting his head in the toilet. The teacher asked Billy, "Why did you stick your head in the toilet?" Billy replied, "I don't know, but I didn't drink any."

In about a month from now, this could be you, except instead of sticking your head in the toilet, the question would be, "Why did you buy the health club membership?" Your response may be, "I don't know, but I didn't know I had to actually go there."

Intentional Prayer

Isn't it incredible that when we call on God, we don't have to leave a Voice Mail and He doesn't put us "on hold?" He is always . . . On Call. (Jeremiah 33:3)

I have a sobering question to ask you? On a scale 1-10 how would you honestly grade your prayer life? Do you pray only in crisis or on-the-run? For me, that grade varies. When I am going through painful situations, that number is higher than when I am not. But this should not be the case! The scriptures instruct us to "Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances." 1 Thessalonians. 5:17-18. Does that say all? I believe it does.
